Wednesday Afternoon

Yippee! I don't have to work tonight! (It doesn't take much to make me happy) We went to the hospital and saw baby Evan and Kristi and Brian last night. He is so precious! Kristi looked very good - actually she looked more rested than Brian! I think she got a nap during the day, but he didn't. I know sleep was a welcome thing for him when he got home. Brent and Ty were excited for everyone to get home today. Evan looks like both of the boys - at first glance I thought he was more like Ty, but after I held him for a few minutes some of his little facial expressions were just like Brent. He gets to just be Evan though! Jerry has been run ragged this last week with car problems. It seems like before the last bolt goes into one repair, one of the kids calls and they are stuck somewhere! I guess it would help if we owned something with less than 150,000 miles on it, but hey, you do what you must! It keeps us humble. I'm putting in a couple of pictures of baby Evan. The last one is Zach's performance at the anti-gang rally last weekend. He did a great job. He really has a way with a crowd! (Knows just how to butter his mom, too!) Loves from Grandview!

Saturday AM

Maybe I can take a few minutes this morning before I get busy and say hello! It was good to have homecoming week over, but it seems like I have been just as busy! Kinzi will be leaving in a few minutes for volleyball practice, and my kitchen floor is screaming at me about how I don't love it anymore! But I'm going to have coffee before I do anything. Well, Kinzi broke the volleyball kill record on Thursday evening. Pretty exciting! Of course, I had to work so I wasn't there! I was hoping she would do it on Tuesday 'cause I don't work that night, but it wasn't to be. But Jerry keeps me posted with text messages. Isn't technology great? Zacher is performing today at an anti- gang violence thing that Sunnyside and Grandview are putting on. It will start at both Sunnyside High School and Grandview's fairground with a march/walk to the Sunnyview Park, which is halfway inbetween both towns. There, there is going to be the big get-together with several musical performers and speakers and such. They are asking everyone to wear white, in absence of gang colors. I hope it goes well and helps a little - gang violence is becoming a huge problem in our valley. I'm putting in a few more homecoming pictures. You know, toilet paper is one of the specialties of that week, and we were blessed! I ran out in my jammies and grabbed one quick shot of a little chunk of the house - had to hurry 'cause they are still running grapes across the street, and I didn't want to be the side show! the next one is Princess Kinzi, Prince Rogi, and Princess Vanessa at halftime. The last one is Rogi and Kinzi before they left for the dance on Saturday. Loves from Grandview!

Homecoming Assembly

Boy - what a day! The homecoming assembly was today, and what a great time. Kinzi was a homecoming queen candidate; she looked gorgeous! (just ask her mom!) And, as a special bonus, Zacher performed one of his songs at the assembly too. I was such a proud mom today - I spent a better share of the whole thing crying! Janis, Troy, Stephen and Kolten were all able to come enjoy it with us. Backing up a few hours, last night at the volleyball match Kinzi got her 1000th kill. That is a pretty special honor for her. There has only been one other girl that has done it in Grandview. The record is 1034, and Kinzi is at 1005 after last night. Pretty exciting! I had to work so I didn't get to be there to see it happen, but my working lets her play so it's okay. The pictures are from the assembly today. One of Zacher performing, one of Kinzi watching the action, and one of both of them afterwards. Loves from Grandview!

Lazy Saturday

We are having a lazy day today. No kids at home, so no games to go to! I wish we could have gone to Spokane for the volleyball tourney, but lack of the almighty dollar left us at home. I'm just glad Kinzi is getting the chance to play. We've talked with her a couple of times today. Their team is finished now, they ended up in 9th place. Kinzi was real happy with how she played, so that's what it's all about. I even took a nap this afternoon! I never get to do that. It has been cold here all day - about 60 degrees, but the wind has been blowing and it goes right through you. My first picture today is of my sweet mama and Jerry at the Applooza carnival. The next two are of Kinzi while she was on her San Diego basketball trip this summer. The first one is at home just before we left for the airport. She was gone for her birthday, so they went to the Red Robin for dinner that day. The waiters gave her balloon ears to wear while they sang happy birthday to her! She is just goofy enough to make it work. Loves from Grandview!

Hellooooo!

Remember us - the ones who don't post often enough? It seems like I have to choose post or sleep, and sleep usually wins out. I am lonely this evening. Kinzi is in Spokane for the Crossover Volleyball tournament, and of course Zacher is in Tri-Cities. We went down to see him and get him a few work clothes today, and I think seeing him just made it worse! Zacher is starting an exciting adventure. He has been messing around with music for a while (rap - not his mama's favorite genre), and has shown a real creative spark and way with words. Anyway, someone heard his stuff and wants to sign him to do Christian Rap. It is a small record company, but we are so excited for him! He is going to perform at the Homecoming assembly at our high school on Friday. Kinda fun. Kinzi is a homecoming queen candidate this year, so we are real excited for that too. They will announce the queen on Friday at the assembly. Maybe! Jerry is working the chains at the football game, but it cold out so I stayed home. Football players - I luv ya but hate the cold! I miss my kids, so I am posting a picture of each one of them. Maybe I'll feel better then. I'm having a real hard time with the growing up thing! I know I have to be a good mom and let them go - but I really love being around them! Little stinkers anyway! Loves from Grandview!

More Applooza

Here's a few more pictures from our day at the Applooza school carnival.

Wednesday Afternoon

I have just a few minutes before I go to work, so maybe I will get this post done in time. I had a rotten day at school today so I need to think about something fun for a little bit. We had a great time at the volleyball game last night. Grandview played Ephrata in Gdv. Cindy, Harley, Carol, Ruby and Hal, Janis and Troy and Dylan were all there. We just love it when any of our family comes and shares the fun with us. Harley plays for Ephrata and we were looking forward to watching her play. However, she was very sick on Monday and stayed home from school. And you all know the rule - if you don't go to practice you don't play. She is feeling better now though, and Thursday they will play in Prosser, so will get to see her then. I'm sending a couple of pics - the one of Kinzi's hit is actually on her way down. She gets up there pretty high, but it is hard to catch it at the very top of her jump. The next one is Jerry, Cindy and Harley, and then Troy and Hal. Loves from Grandview!
